[20:48] *** The scene switches, and Reisen and Tewi are walking together through the dark, narrow hallway of a different part of the command center. The power is out, so everything is silent, still, cloying, and cold.

[20:50] * Reisen Udongein Inaba leads them into a room that's packed with several tables, several computer consoles, and a bunch of shelves stuffed with files, books, and boxes of miscellaneous supplies.

[18:25] *** The Moon-Rabbits all return fire, their lasguns snapping and shrieking as bright las-rounds light up the gloom. Dozens of Stunt Plushies start to blow up in glorious pyrotechnic displays as they're gunned down, but there's just so many of the Fluffs!!!
[18:27] *** Weird. Some of the Tundra Kits are just stopping short at the barricades, galloping back and forth, but not trying to leap over to get at the Moon-Rabbits.
[18:28] * Random Moon-Rabbit is snatched up as a Giant Fox chomps down on her arm! She howls as the "Blood packet" explodes beneath her sleeve and she drops her gun!!! O___o

[18:29] * Chibi-Sylvester watches in horror as the wounded Rabbit-girl is dragged away into the storm, the last thing he see of her before she vanishes entirely are several more Tundra Kits pouncing onto her and climbing up onto her shoulders!
[18:33] * Shimakaze blasts away at a Giant Fox with her shotgun, blowing it in half!!
[18:33] *** Wow, the upper body continues to move forward for a few seconds while the lower body flops over. YOU can BARELY make out the CGI graphics being used!
[18:36] * Chibi-Sylvester watches in horror as another Moon-Rabbit is brought down, pounced on by several Tundra Kits, who are then assisted by a Giant Fox who snaps up the downed Moon-Rabbit by her leg and drags her off.

[18:37] * ~Victoria Smithson grabs Sylvester by the shoulder and pulls him back! "It's okay! I've got your back! Get back inside! Hurry!"

[18:39] *** All around, the Moon-Rabbits are making a desperate stand as the Xenofluffs keep swarming at them. The ground's now carpeted with the charred remains of hundreds of Stunt Plushies, but more keep coming!
[18:40] * ~Victoria Smithson looks back at the outpost. Something keeps drawing her attention.
[18:41] *** The scene switches and Victoria runs into the storeroom. Skidding to a halt outside the door, she quickly opens the window in the door and reaches though.

[18:42] * ???? holds out her hand. Victoria take it and holds it tightly, closing her eyes as for several seconds.

[18:43] * Tewi Inaba watches helplessly as another Rabbit-Girl is pounced on and dragged away into the storm, kicking and screaming.

[18:47] *** The scene switches back into the storeroom as Victoria opens the door, and ???? quickly storms out and heads directly to the main command center, moving so quickly that the camera isn't able to focus on her.
[18:49] * ???? stops at a desk, pulls out a box from underneath it, and removes an armor vest from it. She then rushes over to a computer console that's locked behind a steel mesh. Stenciled on a panel next to it are the words "Perimeter Defense System Controls"

[18:51] * ???? and Victoria Smithson rush back downstairs, with the camera focusing on the display screen of the controls. Something has DEFINITELY activated now that wasn't online before!
[18:52] *** Outside, the battle is still raging, and it's only getting worse.
[18:53] * Hiryuu and Souryuu both are using lasguns in BOTH hands now and are duel-wielding their rifles like crazy, laying down a continuous barrage of shots.
[18:55] * Tewi Inaba screams as she watches Shimakaze get knocked backwards off her feet as her head is engulfed in the paws of a Facehugger Kit!!!
[18:57] * Shimakaze lets out a long, loud, muffled howl as her whole head is grabbed and she starts convulsing wildly on the ground, flailing like crazy as gouts of "blood" and "viscera" start to squirt out from the sides of her head!!!!!!!

[19:08] *** Mechanisms built into the walls of the command post start to shift and move. They look like pneumatic launchers of some kind, and they all have a series of thick metallic cannisters affixed to each of them.

[19:15] *** Loud CRUMPing sounds start to ring out as the pneumatic launchers start firing the cannisters into the air, where they arc upwards and outwards for several dozen feet, then gravity starts to bring them down across a wide area around the command center.
[19:16] *** The cannisters start to detonate, engulfing everything in white-hot ignited promethium and fyceline...basically Imperium-grade napalm. And probably Blessed in the name of the Emperor on top of it all.
[19:17] *** Stunt-plushies by the THOUSANDS are caught in the fiery blasts and immediately ignite!!!

[19:28] * Chibi-Leady , Sylvester, and Victoria spend the next minute carefully making there way through a sea of burned up Stunt Plushies as they approach the big pylons set up around the command center.
[19:30] <Chibi-Leady> See those posts? Those are part of a high-voltage electrical defense perimeter. Basically, when they're working, a powerful field of ionized energy flows between the posts. Anything trying to go though them completes the circuit and grounds the electricity, immediately getting a current of several dozen THOUSAND volts going through them.

[19:31] <~Victoria Smithson> Why isn't it on?
[19:31] <Chibi-Leady> It's damaged.
[19:32] * Chibi-Leady leads them to one post in particular that includes a built-in dais that it's built on.

[19:33] * ~Victoria Smithson tosses Leady a flare.

[19:34] <Chibi-Leady> Okay, you, Sylvester. See those wires? I need you to reach down in there and find if any of them are burnt out. Victoria, I need...
[19:35] * ~Victoria Smithson tosses a bundle of spare wiring and electrical tape at Leady.

[19:37] <Chibi-Leady> Okay, Sylvester. Get to work on replacing that wiring. Use your knife to strip and splice them as you need.

[19:40] * Chibi-Sylvester starts working on the wiring, and gets knocked backwards when a HUGE zap occurs! O___O

[19:43] *** Suddenly, a flare round get fired high into the air, lighting up the entire area. Victoria and Leady both tense up as they understand EXACTLY what that means: someone back at the outpost detected something and was trying to warn them.
[19:44] * Chibi-Leady takes out a pair of binoculars and peers out in the direction where the flare round in descending towards. There's something out there that's NOT a Xenofluff!
[19:44] <~> Hold your fire, we're coming through!!
[19:45] <~Victoria Smithson> Wait! That's the General! I don't she's alone, either!
[19:46] <Chibi-Leady> I can make out two more...THREE more with her.
[19:47] <Chibi-Leady> Wait...XENOFLUFFS! There's a big one following up behind them!
[19:47] <Chibi-Leady> Keep at that wiring, Sylvester!
[19:48] * Chibi-Leady and Victoria start shooting into the darkness, laying down covering fire while Marisa Kirisame rushes towards them, closely followed by two other soldiers, one of whom is carrying a third trooper who's either wounded or unconscious!
[19:52] * Chibi-Sylvester keeps working, and gets ZAPPED again! But he completes the circuit and the machine starts to power up!!
[19:52] * Marisa Kirisame sprints past! >__<;;;
[19:53] *** A Kumiho gallops towards her from behind, leering hungrily at her as it tries to catch up!
[19:54] *** The pylons start to glow as power transmits through them once more, and the scent of ozone becomes overpowering!
[19:55] *** The Kumiho gets close and tries to leap, but it's suddenly engulfed in a MASSIVE continuous discharge of lightning coming from both of the nearest pylons!

[19:56] *** The Kumiho HOWLS as it's transfixed for a full TEN SECONDS, with lightning coursing through its body to such a degree that its fur quickly chars, then COMBUSTS!!!

[19:57] *** Then with a final screeching howl, there's a GIANT ripping sound that comes from the base of its tail, followed by a dull explosion as its tail explodes.

[20:41] <Marisa Kirisame> We held them. HE held them, practically single-handedly. Until one of them got a lucky hit on him and he bled out almost immediately. Thankfully, he didn't suffer, but it was still a damned awful way to go. Anti-climactic after the glorious fight he put up.

[18:28] * Chiyoda pulls herself forward and leans down over Hiryuu. From within her hair, something else begins to stir and move!!
[18:30] *** A tiny little Xenofluff plops down onto Hiryuu's chest, then quickly waddles up her neck and face, then starts BURROWING into her hair between her rabbit-ears.
[18:30] * Hiryuu flails despite being unconscious, shuddering as the Teeny Kit disappears within her hair.
[18:31] <Chitose> That's three now.
[18:32] <Chiyoda> Owww...I think she hurt me badly.
[18:32] <Chitose> We're too close now to worry about that.
[18:33] * Chitose examines the controls to the Master Vox unit, then flicks on the power button.
[18:34] *** The radio system starts to buzz. The displays start to come on, showing that the radio is at least partially functional now.
[18:35] * Chitose goes over to one of the wall-mounted intercom units. "Attention everyone. We've got comms now."
[18:36] *** The scene switches to the main command center, where Chibi-Sylvester is sitting at one of the relay consoles while Marisa stands nearby. Everyone else is starting to hurry into the room, eager to find out if the repair has been successful.

[19:06] *** Then the scene switches to a big glob of Insta-veggie meal pouring into a ration tray. It's the messhall now!

[19:07] *** The messhall feels a little odd now, with Tsukasa, Ringo, and Seiran all sitting together and looking far too chummy together.

[19:37] * Chiyoda is sitting in the back. Even through she's partially hidden by the shadows, it's obvious that the injuries she took from Hiryuu have gotten much worse very quickly.
[19:38] <Chiyoda> I'm kind of tired...this body is breaking down.
[19:39] * Chisote reaches in to pick up Chiyoda. "I'll give you a hand. It's time. We need to act quickly now."
[19:39] <Chiyoda> Oh, thanks.
[19:40] * Chisote starts to carry Chiyoda through the halls. Chiyoda is now looking extremely sickly.
[19:42] <Chisote> Don't worry about it.
[19:43] *** The scene switches to the barracks room, where Chibi-Sylvester is looking awkward and flustered as Doremy Sweet and Souryuu are getting ready to take showers.

[19:53] * Chiyoda falls to the ground, but multiple little fuzzy balls quickly detach from her hair and tail...and roll open to reveal Teeny Kits!!!!!

[19:53] * Souryuu starts whacking away like crazy at the ground!

[19:54] * Chibi-Sylvester trips and falls to the ground, scrambling backwards as a bunch of Teeny Tundra Kits scamper towards him!

[19:58] * Chitose watches through the window in the door, smiling and grinning as Doremy Sweet panics as a few Teeny Tundra Kits start climbing all over her.

[19:59] *** The scene switches again to outside. Victoria has tracked down Leady.

[20:36] * Reisen Udongein Inaba then kicks Leady in the head and knocks her down, while Hiryuu and Souryuu grab her weapon and put her in handcuffs, then start dragging her back inside.

[20:37] * Chibi-Leady is quickly brought inside to Marisa's office. Lying on the ground near the doorway is Tewi's body, lying in a large pool of blood.

[20:38] * Chitose walks over, smiling. She carefully and deliberately places the knife that was used to stab Tewi on the table.

[20:39] <Reisen Udongein Inaba> With pleasure.
[20:40] * Reisen Udongein Inaba and the others aim their rifles at Chibi-Leady, forcing her to move.
[20:41] * ~Victoria Smithson comes up, but says nothing as she watches them take Leady away. Leady looks at her as they pass close by.

[20:42] * ~Victoria Smithson starts to turn away, but stops when she sees Chibi-Sylvester standing a few feet away, staring at her.

[20:44] * Chibi-Sylvester takes hold of Victoria's arm and starts herding her towards the mess hall door (which is just a short distance down the hall).

[20:44] <Chibi-Sylvester> It's not you and me. It's going to happen to all of us.
[20:45] * Chibi-Sylvester puts his own gun down. "It's nothing to be afraid of, really."
[20:45] * ~Victoria Smithson shoves him back while he's momentarily distracted and RUNS into the barracks room, slamming the door shut behind her!
[20:46] * Chibi-Sylvester starts pounding and kicking at the door! >:(
[20:46] * Reisen Udongein Inaba walks into the room.

[20:11] *** Scene switch. Victoria is sprinting down the narrow hall, chasing after Marisa.

[20:12] * ~Victoria Smithson is firing snap-shots from her hip as she runs. She doesn't have time to aim at all!
[20:13] * Marisa Kirisame reaches the final ladder and starts to climb up as fast as she can!
[20:13] * ~Victoria Smithson skids to a halt at the bottom of the ladder and takes aim!

[20:17] *** The roof of the command center is roughly flat, basically the top of a short, squat cylindrical tower rising up out of a blocky base. There are antenna towers, sensors built into reinforced housings, and other equipment up here that obstruct clear lines of sight in some places.
[20:18] *** The wind is no longer a gale, but a strong breeze, carrying upon it snowflakes and a deep chill. High overhead, however, the storm has finally broken and 4546B's nearest moon casts a bright white light down on everything.
[20:18] *** Marisa is nowhere to be seen.
[20:19] * ~Victoria Smithson is still panting as she slowly advances towards the nearest edge of the roof.

[20:20] *** XENOFLUFFS. Thousands of them, of all sizes, crowd the area at the base of the outpost. The defensive fence failed, and the Fluffs swarmed through.
[20:21] *** They're even starting to climb up the sides of the outpost, with the bigger Giant Foxes laying down and forming "Vulpine Pyramids" so that the smaller Kumihos and Tundra Kits can clamber up inches at a time.
[20:21] *** At this rate, they'll be at the top in the next several minutes.

[19:57] * Planet is surrounded by numerous old hulks in decaying orbits. Lots more ions are detected than normal here than would be expected from the star's or backgound radiation. It's probably the weapons, or some sort of accident. Debris is everywhere.

They are easily surveyed from The Intern's vantage point in space. Surrounding the headphones are what appears to be a perimeter of broken machinery. Trackways criss-cross the surface of the forgotten planet.

[20:05] * Planet is still emitting two signals. One amalgamation comes from the headphone edifice, and the other comes from a specific spot in the perimeter. Flashes of weapons fire are visible frequently from the pile of scrap surrounding the headphones. Indeed, movement can be seen there, and crashed ships litter the ground.
[20:06] * @Intern 4 checks into this weapons fire. Are people firing at the palace or from it defensively?
[20:07] * @Intern 4 also pulls up both signals for analysis and decryption, one DataPADD in rach hand
[20:08] *** The weapons fire seems to be aimed at a point in the debris pile. Careful observation reveals machines converging on that point. No weapons fire from the headphones, though they are sometimes hit, with no effect, by errant fire. The ship's Auspex scanners might not be able to recognize them, but Intern probably recognizes signatures of energy weapons once used to defend the HOTEL.

[20:10] * Planet 's crater floor seems to be a recently-active war zone in this area, since there is wreckage in every crater now. There is a single machine, whirling inhuman-looking sharpened implements in movements reminescent of the Iron Soul style, and destroying other machines of several designs that are trying to approach the headphones.

Tread marks and tire tracks up to the battle, but it seems that there is only one set of what looks like human footprints discernable in the wreckage, and they stagger aimlessly around and end at the headphones.
[20:13] * @Intern 4 scans these attacking machines looking for clues as to who manufactured them
[20:14] * Lone combat machine looks vaguely humanoid, and The Intern can make out similarities in the signal it is sending with what Chateaux would use. The machines attacking it all show geometry or aesthetics similar to the wrecked ships that drift around the world, or protrude smashed from the ground.
[20:15] *** It's clear that the tread marks and tire tracks go back to those crashed ships. They are likely the source of the onslaught of opponents.

[20:20] *** The signal seems to be medical information that doesn't look very promising---it shows gas concentrations inside the structure (it appears to be airtight), but it also what appears to be gibberish, but 20% or so the Intern would recognize as old codewords she once considered to indicate the need for help. It says things like "immune support offline," "suit pressure loss, emergency subdual deployed," and "63% systems damaged."

[20:22] * @Intern 4 sigghs the long suffering sigh of dealing with militarists, tells them no, sets up a quarantine field in one of the cargo bays, scans for life-signs in the headphones and preps to Transmat up whoever is there in need of rescue.
[20:22] * The Imperial Guard commanders are also offering if they should deploy their soldiers to the planet to take part in the ongoing fighting.
[20:24] *** There is one life-sign in the big pair of headphones, but it also seems, based on the scans, that there are lots of supplies. Food and water, furniture, varied chambers, and closets, though---oddly, some of these are sized for a person, and some of them are various sizes smaller than that. From 99% the size all the way to infinetisimal compared to a normal habitat. The scan ALSO reveals that the headphones are slowly growing.

There's a steady feed of sedative and soporific gas already synthesized, and one of the replicators aboard the suit is hard-wired to top off the supplies of anesthetic for some reason.
[21:05] * Liza Sunrise-Suminaka 's headphones respond that they are working at 100% efficiency to provide emergency shelter, but 0% of the consumables have been accessed, and emergency subdual mode was deployed along with positive after pressure loss to stop the MUCH MUCH WORSE things it records happening a day or so ago, which they have missed.
[21:07] * Liza Sunrise-Suminaka 's headphones beam an image of a bloodly spot on the floor just inside, and show that there are still adequate levels of anesthetic airborne within. It also shows her the successful enlargement and deployment, and the Headphones report that continued enlargement to provide continued subsistence until rescue was predicted to work just fine. No damage sustained.

Both seem to have similar hazard ratings, though it seems that much more information is being logged on Saki for datamining, though it warns that there's a .001% chance that file is corrupted.

It currently looks like a cross between an unwrapped mummy with bladed and flail bandages, and a spider, made of exotic metal filigree. The tips of its blades are covered in layers of dust, coolant, and notched with metals it has ripped away from its victims.
[22:27] * Liza Sunrise-Suminaka 's suit was comparatively unharmed compared to this thing---it took severe punishment almost everywhere.

But the deepest bits of damage do not--those look like its limbs hit something just as hard as themselves.
