"If any citizen of the United States shall accept, claim, receive, or retain any title of nobility or honour, or shall without the consent of Congress, accept and retain any present, pension, office, or emolument of any kind whatever, from any emperor, king, prince, or foreign power, such person shall cease to be a citizen of the United States, and shall be incapable of holding any office of trust or profit under them, or either of them."

<FireFly_9> So allegedly reads the text of a missing Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. While I disagree with the notion many people researching this mystery amendment have (that it bans members of the government from receiving special benefits from Transnational Corporations due to the "accept and retain...from any...foreign power" wording), since if this amendment were to be legally recognized the Supreme Court would doubtlessly interpret it strictly, ruling that it only relates to dispensations from leaders of foreign nations, I do think that if this was a legitimate amendment it should go back in the Constitution, even as a mere curiosity. (We still keep the defunct 18th Amendment, after all.)
<FireFly_9> Here is the site where research appears to be going on about the Amendment. This page has a table of state ratification notifications to Congress.
<FireFly_9> Hmm... I seem to recall murmurings about a different second amendment to the Constitution as well... Oh... I do believe that was was passed as the 27th rather recently. Perhaps this could be number 28... heh.
