Suburban Senshi: We Got The Powah.
#319: “RIP Stu Hart”

*** Now talking in #suburbansenshi
*** Topic is '-= I'm watching one of his pupils on TV right now... :< =-'
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> Man, this sucks big time. Stu Hart, one of the most influential wrestling trainers of the last century, is dead.
<// J_Daito //> Hmm... pity. Even though I hate the farse that is "professional" Wrestling, I have to give props to Stu Hart... he made his students suffer *for real*.
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> There's a reason his school was known as "the Dungeon"... he trained such greats as Bret "the Hitman" Hart, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit (the only gaijin to actually survive a Japanese wrestling training school) and legends like Andre the Giant
<FireFly_9> "Hart's later years were filled with pain and tragedy. Son Dean died of kidney failure in 1990. Hart's 13-year-old grandson Matthew Annis died of flesh-eating disease in 1996, and youngest son Owen Hart plunged to his death on a wrestling pay-per-view show when a stunt went wrong in 1999."
<FireFly_9> No one should have to see so much suffering.
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> Damn straight. Rest in Peace, Stu Hart, you left your mark on the wrestling industry for all time
<// J_Daito //> I don't think so... how many new "technical" wrestlers do you see? Your wrestling is all "T & A" now, or imported "high flying" Lucha Libre style
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> Nothing's wrong with Lucha Libre
<// J_Daito //> True but it makes people have no patience for the pure "art" of wrestling... look at how many people chose to skip the 1 hour ironman match between Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar, probably the only two really "legit" wrestlers on the roster, just tuning into the end to see who would win
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> Well whaddya expect when Brock was cheating and dancing outside the ring instead of fighting Kurt
<// J_Daito //> But they booked it that way because they KNEW the people wouldn't stand for watching an hour's worth of grappling, no matter how skillful
<// J_Daito //> At least WCW had the guts to let Bret Hart and Chris Benoit fight in pure technical style for half an hour in honor of the late Owen Hart as a result
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> True... and that match turned out to be a true classic
<// J_Daito //> Whereas what SHOULD have been badass, Kurt v. Brock will be forgotten in a few short months
<// J_Daito //> So you see I think Stu Hart's legacy will vanish within a generation... only ProResu will still have the true spirit of wrestling
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> For someone who doesn't like "fake" wrestling you seem to know a lot about it
<// J_Daito //> I watch it... in the odd hope someone loses their reason and commits a homicide
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> ahh, you wacky dark Generals...
<// J_Daito //> Hey at least I didn't mention the sad fate of the Von Erich family.
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> So whawazzat?
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> "Unfortunately for Flair, Kerry's substance abuse problems remained a difficulty. Flair once had to carry a zonked-out Kerry through a sixty-minute draw"
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> Holy [BLEEP] Ric... DAMN
<FireFly_9> What impresses you more? That Flair would make a "Wasted" fool look good in the ring for an hour or that the match lasted that long?
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> The length, really... Flair could make *Usagi* look like an unstoppable force in the ring
<// J_Daito //> As opposed to an unstoppable *farce*
<--=[ SpeedRcrX ]=--> yah
